A Love Story About Alexis Love
2012 marks 20 years since Alexis Love appeared before the SCORE cameras, coinciding with 20 years of SCORE magazine. I met Alexis Love several times in the '90s at the hectic fan conventions Glamourcon and Erotica L.A. In person, the size and look of Alexis' boobs have a staggering effect. Alexis is only 5'2" barefoot so her huge bustline looks even bigger. What I found fascinating about Alexis at these shows was the way she sometimes juggled her two identities: Alexis Love and her former modeling name Joyce Gibson. (As Joyce she also had roles in several Hollywood movies such as The Baltimore Bullet with James Coburn.) Because of this dual persona, Alexis has fans from both modeling careers. There are the guys who collect her photos from the 1970s when she used the name Joyce, and there were guys who collected SCORE material when she made the comeback as Alexis.
When Alexis first hit SCORE in the March '93 issue, the reader mail flooded in. This was actual mail. No one had email then and the internet was still in the creation stage. The readers actually wrote real, lengthy letters on paper and put it in a stamped envelope. A few still do, but email has taken over. Alexis' overall look, her boob power and her popularity led to an exclusive SCORE Group contract. Although Alexis didn't want to do any explicit, open pussy spreading, no one complained. She did open her legs to reveal a nice dark bush but that was the extent of it. Alexis believed in old-school soft nude glamour modeling.

In 1997, Alexis had several medical tests done at UCLA Medical Center to prove that her breasts were natural. A friend of mine Steve Sullivan went with her as a witness. This was her unprecedented response to the constant questions she would get from fans who thought she had implants and would actually ask her if they were real. In every test including a mammogram, the result was "no evidence of breast implants." Alexis proved that her tits were real because it was an important issue to her.
Alexis talked to us about why she returned to modeling in her early forties. "I do feel that I look pretty good for my age, and I know I have a certain sensuality," Alexis said. "Add to the mix that I'm natural, and I just thought modeling would be an interesting statement to make representing women my age who haven't had surgery done to their bodies. It was difficult--deciding whether to model, because part of me wanted the exposure, but part of me didn't."
Alexis could have made hardcore adult films or become an exotic dancer if she wanted to but those paths were not in her nature. "I like being a little bit of a mystery and my privacy is very important to me. That's why I would never be interested in doing any hardcore porno. I really am very shy. In fact, I think it's easier when I work with one photographer, like I did for SCORE. If I had to go out in front of a lot of people and pose or dance in front of total strangers, I would probably faint."
Alexis Love definitely made a big impact in big-boob modeling.
